The breathtaking view, its pleasant climate and the different paths that lead you towards the peaks of the volcanoes Santa Ana, Izalco and Cerro Verde, are perfect ingredients for you to venture to know Los Volcanes.
FROM SAN SALVADOR / Public Transport
Take route 205 (from San Salvador to Sonsonate), get off at Terminal de Sonsonate and take route 209, this bus will take you directly to the entrance of Cerro Verde. If you take route 20 (from San Salvador to Santa Ana), get off at the Desvío El Congo, and then take route 209. From there on, your adventure begins… Enjoy!
FROM SAN SALVADOR / Private transport
Drive on the highway to Sonsonate (CA-8) and take the Desvío El Congo. You will pass through the town of San Isidro and further on, you will find the detour to Cerro Verde, also known as Desvío “El Pacún”. Take the detour and you’re there!
Take the CA-8 highway leading to San Salvador. Then, drive towards Desvío El Congo. Further on, you will find the detour to Cerro Verde, also known as Desvío “El Pacún”. After this detour, you will be at the entrance of Cerro Verde, tourist site that is part of Los Volcanes National Park.
You can also take route 209 (public transport), at the Terminal de Sonsonate. This route will take you straight to Cerro Verde.
Drive towards Desvío El Congo, then towards the detour to Cerro Verde, also known as Desvío “El Pacún” that will take you to Cerro Verde, tourist site that is part of Los Volcanes National Park.
If you take route 202 (public transport from Ahuachapán to San Salvador) you can get off in Santa Ana and take route 209.
